Rita joined the Aleenta Health Club just last year and became a quick hit as an instructor! Rita teaches Reformer Pilates at our Adelaide studios, but is also qualified in:
✅ Mat and Reformer Pilates certification
✅ NAATI Translation and Interpretation certificate
✅ Bachelor and Postgraduate diploma in Nursing
Rita first took up Pilates as a form of self-care from nursing, something she discussed further in our recent blog on self-care practices, so it makes sense that her favourite class to attend at Aleenta is Bodyformer! Her teaching philosophy is to find a workout that brings you joy; off the mat she enjoys cooking, walking down the beach (or running if she's feeling absolutely amazing that day 😂), hiking, playing ukelele, is a mad foodie (her favourite being hotpot), and is currently learning how to play tennis. Talk about an all-rounder!
Rita's biggest inspiration in life is her parents:
"They are my guide and give me the courage to battle obstacles in life."
Perhaps that is why Rita moved overseas completely alone at the age of 18, and has travelled 15 countries all by herself, an achievement of which she is extremely proud! Which country was her favourite? Scotland; time to add that one on your travel bucket list.
Here's Rita's favourite quote for you to live by:
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift... that's why they call it present.”
You can join Rita for Reformer Pilates at Rundle St on Monday nights and Glenelg on Tuesday nights.
