BARRE

Quick results .Low impact .Great for Toning

A mixture of ballet-inspired exercises and technique, yoga and Pilates.

Barre is awesome for strengthening and toning. It uses your own body weight for resistance and uses small, deliberate movements focussing on specific groups of muscles. Muscles are worked to the point of fatigue, and then stretched for relief.

Yet one of the best benefits of barre is that it’s fun! Set to funky tunes It incorporates the use of upbeat music and engaging choreography. Coordination and tutu are not required.

MAT PILATES

A series of precise movements and technique to work the whole body.

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in Germany during World War I. Originally intended to help rehabilitate injured soldiers, Pilates broadened his method to help people of all walks of life, including police officers and dancers, to strengthen their bodies.

The physical benefits of Pilates include an increase in muscle strength and tone without creating bulk. The increase in deep core muscle strength helps to make your abdominal muscles look tight and toned.

High-intensity interval training (HIIT) involves short, intense workouts. You give a series of exercises your full effort for short bursts of 30 to 60 seconds, and follow it with an even shorter period of rest.

While you're doing a HIIT workout, you're burning about the same amount of calories as you would during a typical workout like running. However, you burn more calories after a HIIT workout than you do during a cardio exercise like running, where your heart rate remains mostly stable.

A typical yoga class involves different types of breathing and stretching exercises. You will need a yoga mat on which you will spend the majority of your workout. A series of warm up exercises involving breathing and stretching usually begins the class. From there, you will engage in a variety of yoga positions designed to stretch and work your muscles.

Yoga offers numerous benefits. Physical benefits include increased flexibility and muscle strength and tone. Regular yoga practice can decrease stiffness and joint pain and improve posture and coordination.

Yoga also offers many mental benefits, such as a reduction in stress level. Greater relaxation and reduced stress leads to a host of other positive body changes including an improvement in circulation, sleep and self-confidence.

REFORMER PILATES

Making use of Reformer Pilates machines to work the entire body

Reformer Pilates uses the principles of Breath, Concentration, Control, Precision, Centre and Flow, similar to a mat Pilates classes, but in Reformer Pilates a piece of equipment called the Reformer is used. Developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s it was used for for rehabilitation of soldiers returning from war and with dancers and athletes.

A full body workout, Pilates is amazing for toning every muscle in your body. And the amazing variety of exercises on the reformer means you will never do the same class twice. According to Joseph Pilates "You will feel better in 10 sessions, look better in twenty sessions and have a completely new body in thirty sessions".
